About Us

From individual counseling to overseeing the treatment needs of hundreds of clients, from writing articles for small newsletters to publishing dozens of books, from offering in-house training for a handful of staff to coordinating international conferences, Continuing Excellence founder David Prescott has been working to share resources and improve the treatment outcomes that lead to reducing the harm of sexual violence for more than 30 years. He has been an invited speaker at hundreds of conferences and agencies on six continents ranging from Iowa to Africa, Norway to Nebraska, and the Yukon to Hong Kong. He has been active in professional associations, such as the Association for the Treatment of Sexual of Sexual Abusers (ATSA), the International Association for the Treatment of Sexual Offenders (IATSO), the National Adolescent Perpetration Network (NAPN), the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT), the International Center for Clinical Excellence (ICCE), and more. After publishing various books through Safer Society Press for nearly 15 years, he joined the team at Safer Society Press as an editor in 2020.

With the shifting need for professional training, he sought a way to provide specialized professional training in a way that was accessible and affordable to social workers, psychologists, and paraprofessionals who work toward understanding, assessing, and treating clients involved in sexual violence and trauma. Having worked in the field so far and wide for so long, he enjoys the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues and has mentored aspiring professional trainers all over the world.
